Biting – Ouch!

In ‘Challenge Becks’ Claire asks what Becks would do if she had a child who was biting other children at nursery – but does she know what to do? (Is she really the Karate Kid ;-)?!) 

They also talk about:

  • Biting being a normal and natural behaviour which is really common in pre-school (and sometimes older) children. 
  • What the triggers for biting might be and the fact that children don’t always understand (or even know!) what they are doing. 
  • The best way to respond when your child bites another child or adult (...or you!). 
  • Ways to support your child to help them stop biting. 
  • How to work with nursery if your child is biting other children there.  
  • The fact that it isn’t a reflection on your parenting if your child does bite and how empathy and understanding for parents whose child does bite is really important.
